'We all need to be educated about what the real costs are'

I wanted to respond to many of the negative comments about a turf field at Monroe-Woodbury High School. When I wrote back several weeks ago, I never mentioned a turf field. I just think our kids deserve a better field to play on whether it is turf or grass. If we were to do a turf field many of our programs would benefit - stop saying that is not true. If turf is not an option, then we need to do some major work to the current field like put in drainage and seed or sod it. With that comes maintenance and just want to mention that a turf field is maintenance free. I think we all need to be educated about what the real costs are and let’s see the difference in cost over 10 years - we might be surprised! Ann Byrnes Highland Mills
