Timothy Arone announces his candidacy for Woodbury Town Board

My name is Timothy (Tim) Arone and I am running for councilman in the Town of Woodbury. My family and I have been residents of Woodbury since 2002. During that time I have been a very active member of the community. I coach two soccer teams in the M-W Soccer League, coached in the Monroe United Soccer League for several years, and was an assistant basketball coach for the M-W PTA League, a member of the Woodbury Community Association and the PTA Treasurer for Smith Clove Elementary this past school year. I have decided to run for town council because I want to protect, preserve and enhance the great community of Woodbury. If elected as your councilman, I will make sure that the lawsuits against the KJ pipeline and the sewage capacity are continued. There are too many times that municipalities drop lawsuits due to outside pressure, and I will make sure this does not happen. Living in New York we all feel the burden of being one of the highest taxed states in the country. I believe that the philosophy whereby “people should live within their means” also applies to government as well. If elected I will make sure the town budget is fiscally sound and that the tax burden impact is as minimal as possible while maintaining our town services and our great parks. My work, military experience along with my education has provided me with management, business and leadership experience to represent the residents of Woodbury as a councilman. I have more than 14 years of leadership experience in the insurance industry. I currently serve as vice president of risk management for a national insurance company where I manage a diverse staff and manage a multi-million dollar budget. In my current role I have developed unique industry leading “loss-prevention and valuation” services for our policyholders, saving them money and reducing their risk of property loss. It is this experience and foresight that I will bring to the position of councilman. My education includes a bachelor of science degree in Business administration from Bryant University and an MBA from California Coast University. I also received an honorable discharge as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve Military Police Corps. I believe in open government and if elected I will always make myself available to the residents of Woodbury to address any of their concerns or needs. I am the endorsed candidate of both the Republican and Conservative Parties.
