My name is Neil S. Dwyer and I am pleased to announce that I am running on Nov. 8 as the endorsed Republican candidate for Councilman of the Town of Monroe. This is my first foray into the political landscape of Monroe and I am very excited to participate in the election process. I have been a Monroe resident since 1987. My company, Dwyer & Leavenworth, Inc., a residential remodeling company, has been based in Monroe since 1983. In 1986, I married my wife, Georgette, a life-long resident of Monroe and local business owner herself. We have one son, Neil Jr. In my industry, the one clear lesson I have learned is that you need to have a good ear and eye to hear and see what the customer is asking of you and to meet and exceed their expectations. In growing my business, I have come to appreciate this most important lesson as it has played a part in all aspects of my life, and I firmly believe it will play a critical role in working for all the people of Monroe. I will bring a new energy, respect, work ethic and motivation to the very challenging task of bringing the Town of Monroe government back to the people by providing an open government that communicates with courtesy and respect for the public as well as each other on the board. My belief in community service began soon after arriving in Monroe with activities including Cub Scout Assistant Pack Leader #340, Boy Scout Assistant Troop Leader #440, past finance chairman of Sacred Heart School in Monroe, current board member of Burke Catholic Development Committee, current treasurer of Burke Catholic Parent Club and Spirited Spokes Charity Bike Run. As a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church Monroe, my family and I have had many opportunities to participate with our neighbors in our community to bring positive and sustainable change to all residents of Monroe for today and the future. I look forward to meeting with as many residents as I can in the coming weeks ahead so that we can exchange ideas and hopes for the future of Monroe. Neil S. Dwyer Monroe
