Having served as town justice of the Town of Monroe for the past twenty-one years, and having again received the endorsement of the Republican Party for this position, I will be on the ballot on primary day, Sept. 13, 2011. During my tenure as town justice, I have handled approximately 70,000 cases involving approximately 54,000 defendants. These cases include felony arraignments and appropriate hearings with respect to those felony charges when required, misdemeanor crimes and other violations of the Penal Law of the State of New York, including but not limited to cases involving drugs, assaults, burglaries, driving while intoxicated cases, as well as civil cases, landlord/tenant cases and vehicle and traffic violations. I have presided over numerous criminal jury trials and have conducted many bench trials as well. I reside in, and have practiced law in Monroe since 1967, am a member of the New York State and Orange County Magistrates Associations as well as having served on the Judiciary Committee of the Orange County Bar Association. I have also served as attorney for the Town of Monroe Zoning Board of Appeals and as attorney for the Joint Park and Recreation Commission in addition to having been an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, attorney and honorary member of the Monroe Ambulance Corps and have been an honorary member of the Mombasha Fire Company. As the only judicially experienced candidate, I am proud of my record and my reputation for being highly qualified, highly experienced and fair, am likewise proud that I have earned the respect and confidence of the citizens of the Town of Monroe, and look forward to their continuing support.
