Monroe Free Library 'is an essential part of our community

I write this in support of the library’s request for an increase in town funding this year. This increase covers the necessary costs of operating the library. The proposed increase comes to $13.00 per year for the average Monroe household. The library is an essential part of our community. It gives us the opportunity to expand our minds and to travel to foreign worlds. It is a resource for knowledge and entertainment and is a center of community activity necessary to keep a town vital. It is the place where we can go to better understand one another. Sincerely, Anita Poll Monroe
