Michael Queenan states his case for re-election as Woodbury mayor

Two years ago I announced my candidacy for Village of Woodbury mayor. At that time, I made my case for why I was the right person to represent you as mayor. This time I want to tell you about some of my accomplishments and future objectives of your village government. We have: • Made significant investment into our aging infrastructure to meet DEC requirements. • Secured an additional 320,000 GPD of sewage capacity. • Revised our comprehensive plan and scheduled a second public hearing. • Adopted zoning laws to enhance economic development and outdoor recreation. • Requested and received a state audit review. • Completed the dedication of the Brigadoon roads. • Became a founding member of the Moodna Creek Watershed Inter-Municipal Council. • Televised village meetings. Our consolidated government initiative has had a sluggish start due to the lack of Town Board support. The Home Rule request needs the approval of both the Village and Town Boards. We will continue to work and negotiate with the Town to keep the process moving forward. Our primary objective continues to be government consolidation for the benefit of the residents of Woodbury. I and my fellow trustees will continue to be a fiscally responsible and accountable Village Government; invest in our infrastructure; improve quality of life; increase the tax base without impacting schools; finalize our comprehensive plan; and work to develop affordable senior and workforce housing. Our Village needs dedicated leaders who want to be part of the solution. I am asking for your support, so that I may continue to work for you as Mayor of the Village of Woodbury. Please come out on March 15 and vote for the Common Sense Party Team of Michael Queenan, Timothy Egan and Thomas Flood. Even though we are running unopposed we still need your vote of confidence. Let everyone know that the residents of Woodbury vote. Please come out and make your vote count! We truly appreciate your support. Michael Queenan, mayor Village of Woodbury
