Lyn Prestia announces her candidacy for Woodbury Town Board

I am writing to declare my candidacy and desire to serve the community of Woodbury in the position of Town Council Member. I am the endorsed Republican and Conservative candidate. While I have respect for the current council representatives currently serving, I believe the Town of Woodbury needs a new voice and fresh eyes to serve in the function of matters vital to town government and the provision of related services. My husband Ron and I have lived in Highland Mills for 16 years and we have twins in Monroe-Woodbury Middle School. I believe that my many years of business management, which includes operational budgetary and internal controls, financial analysis, coordination of bids and purchasing, familiarity with operations and maintenance and managing a staff of 48 will enable me to immediately link into town board service, when elected. I would like to bring my knowledge of local community, business experience and personal connection with the people of Woodbury and a strong “Can Do Spirit” to the local government. My highest priority is to represent the needs of the people of the Town of Woodbury. I want to assure residents that I will represent their interests equally and fairly. My election goals are as follows: • Represent you and your best interests. • Fight the Kiryas Joel pipeline. • Fight any annexation of Woodbury lands. • Work to make local government more accessible. • Assure a fiscally responsible budget. • Work to prevent a property Tax Cap override. • Support our Parks, Police and Highway Departments with funding, training and updated equipment. In difficult economic times, we can use representatives with new experience and different perspectives to be better managers of our taxpayer’s money. On Nov. 8, I ask for your vote for Woodbury Town Council. Remember: Our community matters! Please come out and vote. Marilyn (Lyn) Prestia Highland Mills
