'The people of Woodbury will miss Judge Levinson and his wisdom'

As a resident of the Village/Town of Woodbury for many years, I was disappointed to see that Justice David Levinson will be retiring very shortly.
As a friend of Judge Levinson, I am glad to see that he and his wife will have some peace after 38 years of middle-of-the-night arraignments and many other interruptions to their lives.
When Judge Levinson ran for his first term, the Town of Woodbury Republican registered voters far exceeded those registered as Democrats.
Only well-known, lifelong Democrats obtained office.
But Judge Levinson knocked on every door in town, worked very hard and then knocked on the doors of those he missed. His election was a surprise.
In later years, when I was the Orange County Republican Committee Chairman, I often cited Judge Levinson's effort as to how to win an election: Work hard.
Judge Levinson also helped me when I went through a very difficult period after I lost my son.
The people of Woodbury will miss him and his wisdom. We appreciate what you have done for our town.
Thank you, Judge - and thanks to your family, too.
