Thank you, Woodbury

During the past year, the Woodbury Lions have partnered with Trex to recycle plastic that would otherwise end up in a landfill.

It has been fourteen months of collecting and we have collected and delivered more than 2,500 pounds of plastic.

For each 500 pounds of plastic that we deliver, the Lions receive a Trex bench. We have installed the first bench near the entrance to the Highland Mills Post Office.

None of this would be possible without the support of the Woodbury community. We would like to thank Kohl’s for agreeing to ship our plastic. Manager Maria Calle and her staff have been super-supportive.

A thank you also goes to Jay’s Deli, Aldi, the Senior Center and both Town and Village Halls who have generously allowed us to put collection bins on their sites.

Both the Highland Mills and Central Valley Post Offices have also been instrumental in saving and donating plastic.

And, of course, a huge thank you to the residents who have been saving and dropping off plastic at each of our collection sites.

The Lions are proud to have partnered with Trex and to have the support of so many residents and businesses.

Our community is environmentally cleaner due to their efforts.

Thank you, Woodbury.
