Taste of Post 488 was successful ‘because you cared’

| 17 Jul 2012 | 12:40

We wanted to thank the community and the generous donors who supported the July 15 Taste of Post 488 in memory of Bob Martell the former second vice commander at American Legion Post 488.

Our preliminary estimates indicate that we will meet our goal to support the veteran’s and scouting programs championed by Bob Martell. These funds will go to support these programs and allow Post 488 to continue to do the important community work Bob was so passionate about.

We continue to miss Bob’s guidance, counsel, support and good humor every day.

If you bought a ticket to eat, thank you.

If you donated a cell phone to our Cell Phones for Soldiers project, thank you.

If you prepared food items to sample, thank you.

If you gave away goodies to guests or provided in-kind services, thank you.

This event was a success because you cared, and we are very grateful.

Our Taste of 488 event is a reaffirmation that community spirit is alive and well. We are humbled in the belief that you feel our community work is so important, and we will continue to do all that we can to support Bob’s important projects.
