‘Stand with the nuns’

The elected Orange County women standing with Nan Hayworth should think about the consequences for the constituents they serve.
In Congress Hayworth stands with Paul Ryan and his cohorts, not for the people of her district.
Hayworth used her votes consistently to support Ryan’s budget that would shred the social safety net for us all, but particularly for the poor.
It’s disturbing to me that now, when she has to stand on her own for re-election, she reaches out to women as her safety net. Does she think women will overlook her positions that endanger our health and our rights?
There is a different group of women that women and men of Orange County can proudly stand with — the Catholic nuns who traveled the country, the Nuns on the Bus, to speak out against Paul Ryan’s budget which in their words, “failed a basic moral test, because it would harm families living in poverty.”
People of all beliefs know that struggling Orange County families would suffer even further without the access to the social services and health care that Nan Hayworth voted to cut in her support of the Ryan budget.
Stand with the nuns against the Ryan budget - and against Nan Hayworth.
