    Dear Neighbors and Friends,

As we enter into the first day of the New Year, I would like to offer to all our residents, our businesses, our first responders and our friends the very best in all that you will do this year for you, your families and community.

Taking stock of what the New Year will bring has a way of also allowing us to reflect on all the good we have witnessed in this community. The sense of charity from so many groups like Monroe Gives, Toys for Tots Drive, and many others for Christmas is a foundation from which so much has and will continue to grow here in Monroe. I believe from good, good things will come.

There are so many new things happening here in the Village, including new businesses opening. The Marketplace has opened at 13 Lake St., with so many gifted artisans proudly showing their work. A new restaurant is coming to Lake St. which will bring a tremendous energy into the mix of businesses that are on Lake St.

Our work continues in our downtown, with new sidewalks and curbs, a very cool aesthetic with lights, plantings and better access into the downtown, which, when completed, will be amazing and inviting, encouraging everyone to come down and visit with our businesses. The energy of this community is stretching its arms and growing further along our roads in all directions.

On behalf of our Board of Trustees and staff, I would like to offer everyone a joyous New Year filled with health, love, prosperity and peace in your lives.

We continue to be blessed to live in this very caring community of giving people, and we are honored to serve you all.

God Bless our community and our nation.

    Peace,

    Mayor Neil Dwyer
