John Allegro: 'There is more work to be done'

Thank you to all of the voters who came out to support my candidacy for New York State Assembly in the September 13th Republican Primary.
You came out 1,950 strong; we scored victories in Monroe, Warwick and Tuxedo. However, we did not garner enough votes to overcome the mandate of the Kiryas Joel government-backed “Anash” party, who supported my opponent.
Thank you to the incredible team of volunteers who spent time away from their families collecting signatures, fund raising and knocking on doors. Our message of integrity, fairness and good government was heard loud and clear throughout our diverse and expansive district.
One of the most humbling moments of my life was to look down at a ballot and see my own name. I had the opportunity to exercise the most powerful expression of free speech under the First Amendment by running for office.
For this, all of you who participated in this process have my eternal gratitude.
I decided not to continue my run in the general election as a third-party candidate. However, there is more work to be done.
My passion will not waver. I will work vigorously to inform voters throughout the region, and to increase turnout for upcoming elections.
I will continue the fight against self-serving government officials and the land-grabbers who hide behind LLCs.
I will not rest until the rogue Town Supervisor of Monroe and his henchman are dispatched from office.
United Monroe leaves the N.Y.S. Assembly election stronger than ever.
We left the race with the agreement from my primary opponent that he will not use our name on his third-party ballot line.
United Monroe remains ours – and yours as we continue our mission of accountability, civility and transparency in government.
