If you live in a small village, you must give back....
Why you should vote for Frank Eppinger? I will tell you why - I am his wife.
I am Jean Eppinger born and raised in Middletown where I graduated from their schools and Orange County Community College. I loved New York City and decided to find a job and live there.
I was active in the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church and one day Frank, a New York City-born and educated man, walked in with two friends. They were there to join in the fellowship and play volley ball – I played bridge. A year and half later we were married on June 18, 1966, in Middletown and moved to New Jersey to live.
We had two young children Tom and Paula and were attracted to Monroe and decided to move here in 1972.
Our late brother-in-law, born and raised in Middletown and who lived in Warwick, told Frank: You live in a small village, you must give back to that village by joining some program.
Since then Frank has given back by joining the Mombasha Fire Company for ten years. He has been in Boy Scouts for 38 years where he counselors boys to earn rank of Eagle. Hudson Valley Council awarded him the Silver Beaver, highest award by a Council for outstanding service to Scouting. Frank has run District and Council outdoor events for hundreds of participants.
Our daughter Paula is a Gold Award Girl Scout and our son Tom is an Eagle Scout. Our two grandsons Keith and Erik are in scouting.
We helped organize and volunteered for the day when the Multiple Sclerosis Society had their walks at the Galleria in Middletown and Goshen. Franks late brother Fred and our daughter have the disease.
At the first Presbyterian Church in Monroe over the last ten years we have been volunteering in the Food Pantry. Frank understands many of the problems people have and talks to them.
Frank was asked to finish a one-year vacancy and then ran last year. Frank is a not a politician. He puts in a lot of time whether reviewing finances, negotiating contracts and trying to save the village money. He is retired and has gone to different functions representing the village.
People have called him on different problems and Frank understands and helped them whether big or small.
Frank cares about and understands about the problems of todays economy. He knows about being a commuter as he commuted by car, bus and train to New York City, Westchester and New Jersey. He was laid off and after many months found a job with Orange County Government. Frank has been in the computer field his entire working life. At the county he had major responsibilities with the construction of the new jail and court house. During this time he was a member of CSEA, AFSCME, AFL-CIO and is now a retired member. I also belonged to the union while I worked at ShopRite in Monroe for almost 10 years.
Please vote to re-elect Frank as he cares about Monroe and the residents.
