Have you ever wondered why we have Earth day?
Could it be we clean up because we are forced to (e really aren’t even forced to keep Earth clean)?
Or do our parents make us? Is it to keep our only home somewhat safe and clean?
The answer should be to keep our only home safe. Not the house you live in right with a couch, TV and kitchen but the home that we all share. Earth.
How and why do we keep Earth clean? Read on to learn how and why we do what we do to keep our Earth clean.
If you kept on reading, great. As promised we will learn the why and how of keeping Earth clean.
First, Why. Well as said earlier, simply to keep Earth clean, but there is so much more to it than just that. We do it because keeping our Earth clean leads to a healthier and trash free life-style. Plus, the land around you looks beautiful. When you clean Earth it is easier to do more outdoor activities such as gardening. With no trash, your plants will grow better. BBQ’s become so much nicer without trash everywhere and nowhere to put your equipment. It also becomes a safer place for people and animals.
Once it is clean you feel free because it becomes your happy place. You can lay on the prickly, green, grass or lay down and hear the calming sound of the birds. Anyone out for a game of tag can do so without tripping on garbage and getting scratched or bruised. This is how Mother Nature repays you for cleaning Earth.
Now that we know why we keep Earth clean, now it’s time to learn how. Two ways are picking up trash and recycling. Those are the basics that your parents usually tell you but there are other ways (not that you shouldn’t listen to your parents).
Here are some other ways. One of the 3 R’s, (Reduce, reuse, recycle) my favorite is reusing. You can use plastic bottles to make bird feeders and cardboard and bottle caps to make paint holders to decorate them. See, it is enjoyable to reuse!
Another way is to use more metal products like reusable water bottles. Besides the environmental benefits, the money cuts, and colder water all day, they help to prevent trash around the Earth. Plastic bottles are everywhere and roam the Earth in the sea and land. Think of plastic as zombies for the Earth. Metal bottles get washed and are good to use for at least a year, and if you are into designs, they have many pretty ones too.
As you can see the impact that all this trash has on our Earth. Earth Day is not just another day, it should be every day. If we wait once a year to clean, it will be that much harder. Think of how many people who have not read this article and who don’t want to clean and don’t care about the planet. A lot. So, it will be even harder for you and the few who read this article and who are cooperating in cleaning the Earth. Earth Day should be everyday so you don’t get overwhelmed with all the trash once a year. I encourage you to clean and pass these words of wisdom to others.
