Christopher DiLorenzo outlines his platform for M-W BOE
This letter is to announce my intention to run for the Monroe-Woodbury Board of Education. With a background in the financial sector on Wall Street and as an owner of various businesses, my experience can help enhance an already fiscally responsible BOE.
Many challenges exist in the current economy and evaluating expenditures, holding people accountable and creating the best possible curriculum for all students, faculty staff and administration is something I will strive for.
I will concentrate on the financial responsibilities of the board.
Additionally, a major goal will be to protect our school from the upcoming annexation.
My main objective will always be in the best interest of our children.
Since 2001, I reside in Monroe with my wife Antonia and three children. I worked on Wall Street for 21 years at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). I was a floor trader for 16 years. I was owner/president of my own company C.F.D. Commodities. C.F.D Commodities was a full service brokerage operation for various commodities such as natural gas, crude oil, propane, and unleaded gas. On the NYMEX I served on various committees. I was a floor chairman for more than nine years. I sat on the NYMEX settlement committee as well as training and education committees. I retired from NYMEX in 2009.
I was co-owner of Salads & Such opened in Monroe in 2011 until March 2015. Currently, I am the treasury of Monroe Pop Warner Football & Cheer and Deer Tract Homeowners Association. My spare time is spent coaching in Monroe Pop Warner Football League, basketball and lacrosse. I enjoy the game of golf.
My professional experiences and personality will allow me to carry out the responsibilities of a school board member with integrity and honesty.
My intention is to do so without the everyday political aspects interfering.
Voting for me will help us improve the excellent education Monroe-Woodbury already has.
