Black Babies’ Lives Matter

| 28 Sep 2020 | 11:24

The leading cause of death in the Black community is not HIV-AIDS, cancer, homicide, diabetes or heart disease.

The leading cause of death is abortion: More than 400,000 Black babies are aborted each year. That’s more than 1,100 Black lives, each and every day.

The abortion industry specifically targets women of color. Nearly 80 percent of Planned Parenthood abortion facilities are located within walking distance of neighborhoods with proportionately higher minority populations.

Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood’s founder, was a racist and eugenicist, writing in a 1939 letter to an ally: “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.”

Some say abortion is about choice. But the baby in the womb, defenseless and vulnerable, has no choice when his or her life is snuffed out.

And women in crisis pregnancies feel trapped, pressured, without a choice. They need our help.

MyChoice Pregnancy Care Centers in New Windsor and Middletown are compassionately helping women faced with an unplanned pregnancy, caring for each woman with respect and kindness. Trained patient advocates provide emotional support and guidance, and registered nurses provide medical services. Women choosing life for their precious unborn babies can get referrals to desperately needed resources (state-funded health insurance, WIC, affordable child-care, and more).
