Help your local food pantry

The Monroe Food Pantry needs your help. The number of struggling families in our community continues to be strong. In 2010, the Monroe Food Pantry provided food to more than 525 people each month, spending more than $15,000 for the year, and distributing more than 125,000 pounds of food. These numbers were unprecedented. Worse, the number of people in need of assistance remains at these unprecedented levels. The Monroe Food Pantry is a 100 percent volunteer organization. All donations go directly to feeding those in need. Money to buy food comes from donations made by organizations and individuals within the community. The Food Pantry does not receive any government monetary assistance. Because of the economy, monetary donations are down significantly. The Food Pantry will soon be forced to reduce the amount of food we distribute to each family. Please prevent this from happening by making a donation. Donations can be sent to the Monroe Food Pantry, 47 Maple Ave., Monroe, NY 10950. Thank you for helping provide assistance to your friends and neighbors in our community.
