A community's generosity provides food and gifts for hundreds
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the wonderful support we have received from the Monroe-Woodbury community during this holiday season. In every school, students, parents, staff, faculty and administrators generously contributed food, presents and gift cards for our families. In addition, contributions were received from the staff and administrators in our district offices with the transportation department leading the way with fund-raising events. I would also like to extend a very special thank you to our community support including Theresa Weissburg and the parishioners of St. Patrick’s Church in Highland Mills, the food pantries at Monroe United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church, Our Father’s Kitchen, Grace Episcopal Church, the employees of M & T Bank Monroe branch, Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, The Rotary Club, Warwick Valley Quilters Guild, the Bereaved Parents Support Group, the local Girl Scout and Boy Scout Troops and any other group I may have missed recognizing. Due to your overwhelming generosity, we were able to provide 198 families food for Thanksgiving and 548 children with holiday presents. On behalf of the school nurses and the health office assistants, thank you for all your help. Sharon DiGeronimo, RN, MS Health Services Coordinator
