‘Your generosity will make a difference'

Hope 4 Alvina and Jason would like to thank all who helped make our fund raiser a success. Our goal was to assist two families, the Rumsey family of Central Valley and the Alliu family of Monroe. Jason Rumsey was diagnosed with Leukemia in August and Alvina Alliu was diagnosed with brain cancer this past March. The fund raiser was held on Nov. 14 at Cabo / Sienna in White Plains. About 300 guests came to help support our cause. Your generosity will make an immediate difference in the lives of these two families. We would like to give a special thanks to our great group of volunteers which made up the Hope 4 Alvina and Jason Committee. In the rush of all that needed to be done, you all came through. Thank you for giving your time and yourselves to help make our event a success. Please accept our heartfelt appreciation. Hope 4 Alvina and Jason Committee: Lisa Alessandrino, Alfons Alliu, Julie Alliu, Kathy Blasko, Denice Dacunha, Lynne Matthes, Jennifer Osborne, Peg Rumsey, Syed and Farrukh Ahsan. Thank you to the following for providing us with the locations to host our fund raiser, bake sales, T-shirt and wristband sales: Cabo Wine Bar & Tapas Lounge, Sienna Italian/American Grill, St. Patrick’s Church, Sacred Heart Church, Marina’s Pizza and Restaurant and Central Valley Methodist Church. Spreading the word was a key part in making the event a success. We would like to thank all businesses who allowed us to post our flyers on their windows and graciously allowed us to place collection jars on their counters. To all of our family and friends who handed out flyers for us at community meetings and events and sent out mass e-mails, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you to the Monroe-Woodbury PTAs for using their e-mail contact lists to help spread the word - it was a tremendous help. Thank you to Karen Rice for providing us with our posters and to Yoursport in Central Valley for our banner. Thank you to all who pitched in and helped the Hope 4 Alvina and Jason Committee sell raffle tickets, wristbands, t-shirts, and helped us at our baked sales: Alexandra Kressevich, Anthony Kressevich, Samantha Kressevich, Daniel Simons, Vinny Valente, Casey Vornfett, Sean Powers, Casey Powers, McKenzie Napier, Matt Skowronski Jenna Pyzowski and Nicholas Pyzowski. Many businesses and private donors generously contributed by to Hope 4 Alvina and Jason. The commitment shown by our community to help Jason Rumsey and Alvina Alliu is greatly appreciated. These kids and their families are fighting the hardest challenge they have ever had to face. Your donations and gifts will be used to offset treatment costs, travel expenses, medication co-pays, etc. Thanks again for your generous support of our efforts. If you donated directly to the bank account, our online Web site, mailed in your donation or contributed to one of our collection jars and you are not listed above, we greatly appreciate your generosity and support. Donations can be made through our Web site (www.hope4alvinaandjason.com) or by mail (Hope 4 Alvina and Jason, P.O. Box 684, Highland Mills, NY 10930).
