Woodbury Spring Cleaning Day will be held this Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.

Central Valley - The second annual Woodbury Spring Cleaning Day, sponsored by the Town of Woodbury, will be held this Saturday, May 7, with all volunteers meeting at Smith Clove Elementary School at 10 a.m. One hundred community members came out last year to help keep Woodbury a clean and green town, picking up more than 15 cubic yards of trash in the process. “This is a great event with residents, businesses, and civic groups all coming together to make Woodbury a model example of how to organize a town cleanup and have fun in the process,” said Rob Weyant of the Woodbury Highway Department, one of the organizers. All supplies, breakfast, T-shirts, and destinations will be distributed at the 10 a.m. start. A barbecue will follow the cleanup back at Smith Clove Elementary School. “In addition to the generous support from our local businesses, the outpouring of participants who came out last year is a testament to just how much our residents care for our community,” said Woodbury Town Councilman James Skoufis. “It’s terrific to see and hopefully we’ll have an even better event this year,”
