Woodbury needs town board people who can listen and comprehend
To the editor: In Hank Sullivan's letter last week, this Town Board candidate showed a total lack of understanding of one of the main issues. It was made very clear during the public hearings held on Bill Brodsky's project for Nininger/Dunderberg Roads that the developer's request was to go from an R-2A to an R-1A zone. An R-1A zone means that there would be one unit per acre (except for a small portion of the property that is designated for active adults with no children). Mr. Brodsky has requested clustering so that he can provide a very important buffer area all around the project to be donated to the Town. Each house (except in the active adult portion) will therefore be situated on three-quarters or one-half acre lots n similar to many other parcels within Woodbury. Where does Mr. Sullivan come up with the misleading, incorrect and sensationalistic figure of four to five units per acre? Is he consciously misrepresenting the facts in order to try to scare his fellow residents or is he just uninformed? Neither scenario is acceptable for someone who seeks to be a Town Board member. On Sept. 13, I will be voting for Gerri Gianzero and Mike Queenan, both of whom have demonstrated their intelligence and commitment to studying situations before the town and who have carried out their Town Board and Planning Board responsibilities well.
