To the editor: In the month of October, we held our annual homeowners meeting at the Woodbury senior citizens hall. Highland Lake Estates is a private community of 160 single-family homes with 700+ adults and children. We had a great turnout of both working adults, stay at home parents and senior citizens. We discussed several of the candidates, their achievements, track records, political views, and most of all, their immediate and long term strategies to improve the quality of live for all Woodbury citizens. It was very clear to many attendees, many of the candidates have mislead citizens of Woodbury on various serious issues such as growth and development factors, traffic issues and possible alternatives, potential annexation, and potential tax relief alternatives. At the end of the night, one of homeowners put a motion of the floor to endorse Woodbury’s best candidates that have fiscal responsibility, implement smart growth and self funded programs, and solicit federal, state and county funding to repair and maintain current infrastructure and professionally address the prior mentioned issues head on. The HOA members unanimously agreed to support Roxanne Donnery (D) for county Legislature, Sheila Conroy (R,C)) for Town Supervisor, Gerri Gianzero (R,C) and Mike Queenan (R) for Town Council. We also agreed to vote for Pete Stabile for Highway Supervisor and David Hasin for Town Justice running unopposed. Richard Cataggio President Highland Lakes Estates HOA
