Women of the Monroe Area offer Encore Scholarship

    MONROE - The Women of the Monroe Area (WOMA) are offering a $450 Encore Award Scholarship to recognize the dedication and determination of women returning to, or beginning their college education.   Applicants must live in Monroe or the surrounding communities. Additionally, candidates must have graduated from high school (or received a GED certificate) at least 5 years prior to time of application, be enrolled or plan to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate program (full or part time) at an accredited college or university, and be an active member of their community. Applications for the Encore Award Scholarship are now available at the Monroe and Chester Libraries or by calling Stacy Earle at 845-782-7579. Deadline for submission is May 15. WOMA will also  be awarding scholarships to two graduating seniors from Monroe-Woodbury High School.  Applications for these scholarships are available at the High School Guidance Department.
