‘Womansafe' program teaches self-defense

    MoONROE-A free safety seminar, “Womansafe,” will be offered from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Tiger Schulmann’s Karate Center at 290 Larkin Dr., Suite 102, in the Harriman Commons in Monroe. The program was created for the sole purpose of educating and empowering women to live life safely and not in fear. The program begins with a talk by a woman who has been specially trained and credentialed in the latest statistics and information regarding rape and other violent crimes. The second part of the seminar is a self-defense workshop, taught by a certified black-belt female instructor. The women will share important insights, tips, and general awareness issues.
