Winter parking regulations now in effect in village
Monroe - Effective immediately, village residents must park their vehicles off the street from 10 p.m. to 6 p.m., now through April. This local law was created to assist in snow removal. According to Monroe Police Officer Gregory L. Witte, its provisions include: It is unlawful to delay, hinder or obstruct any vehicle or equipment engaged in the operation of snow removal on any street within the village. It is unlawful for any person to park any vehicle upon any street within the village after a precipitation of snow of two inches or more and before such snow has been cleared. The owner or a person in change of any vehicle standing in any such street shall move the vehicle out of the path of snow plows. There is no parking on any street within the village from Nov. 1 to April 1, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
