Who are those noisy insects?

Cornwall — The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will answer the question, “Who are those noisy insects?” on Saturday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m. This time of year the air is filled with the humming and buzzing of interesting insect sounds. Have you ever wondered who is making them? Join environmental educator Pam Golben at the museum’s Outdoor Discovery Center on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road, in Cornwall, to find out. Participants will meet some of these insects plus a special visitor, the museum’s resident Madagascar Hissing Cockroach and go on a short “insect hike,” plus make a clever cicada craft to take home. This program is suggested for adults and children ages 5 and up. The cost is $5. Members are $3. For more information, call 534-5506, ext. 204.
