We owe it to ourselves to have Karl and Lesser represent us'
To the editor: I am writing in support of John Karl for mayor and Charles Lesser for trustee of the Village of Monroe. I have had the opportunity to work with John on some very challenging issues. During that time I have found him to have the qualities I expect ( and we should all expect) from our elected officials. John has shown unwavering integrity, a willingness to listen and a keen understanding of the challenges facing Monroe. He is a creative thinker, energetic and has been pro active in dealing with the issues. Most importantly, he has never failed to keep the best interests of the people of Monroe as his primary focus. Since being elected village trustee John has, on several occasions, been pro active addressing several of the important issues facing the village. For example: during the budget hearings he was the most critical of budget increases. He was also the first trustee to address eliminating health insurance for elected village officials. These qualities will make John an excellent mayor. John has been a voice of reason and common sense that has been a refreshing change from some of the self-serving, business-as-usual antics that the people have endued for the past eight years. I have known Charles Lesser for many years. I can’t think of anyone in the community that is more qualified to serve on the village board than Charlie. As a lifelong resident and merchant in the village, Charlie is very attuned to the issues and needs of the village. As a member of the merchants association I have worked closely with Charlie on several issues. I have found him to be very knowledgeable and pragmatic in his approach and he is optimistic in his vision of Monroe. Charlie will bring a depth of knowledge and experience to the Board and we can be fully confident he will do an excellent job representing the people of Monroe. We, the people of Monroe, owe it to ourselves to have men like John Karl And Charles Lesser represent us. Michael Littier Monroe
