Voting for Democrats

To the editor: I’d like to tell you why I’m voting for Vaccaro, Schwartz and Rios for Monroe Town Board. Last summer, while I was waiting for my bus, I was approached by a leader of SaveMonroe. He insisted that Alicia Vaccaro was a weak woman, cries at town meetings and wasn’t worthy of my vote in the primary election. I was offended that SaveMonroe would use sexism to get my vote. Days later, I met Audra Schwartz. She gave me her credentials and her position on the issues. Her energy, intelligence and clear answers on how we can improve our town impressed me. Later, I met Alicia Vaccaro and John Rios. Again, I was impressed with their knowledge of the issues, their proposed solutions and their willingness to listen to my concerns with respect and candor. Nothing negative was said about any other candidate. I’ve come to know these candidates. They are more than worthy of your vote. Certainly, Vaccaro is not the weak female that SaveMonroe claims, but a dynamic, strong and overwhelmingly qualified woman committed to our community. The hard work, character and dedication that Vaccaro, Schwartz and Rios have shown throughout this campaign, as well as their focus on the issues and much needed solutions convinced me. If you want real change in Monroe by honest, fair, strong officials, vote for Vaccaro, Schwartz and Rios on Row B (Democrat) or Row E (Working Families Party) on Nov. 8. I know I will.
