Uniting can get the job done'
To the editor: I am exhausted by partisan politics, by those shouting change is needed who have no concrete solutions, just rhetoric. Significant decisions need to be made about the direction our community is going in. The team of Vaccaro, Schwartz and Rios impresses me. Led by Alicia Vaccaro, they clearly present goals, actions, and solutions, which can be seen at www.monroenydems.com. A trained, experienced municipal civil engineer, Alicia understands what it takes to develop and implement those solutions. A local Girl Scout Troop Leader for years, she helps form the character of our children. Having volunteered with her for years as a Friend of the Monroe Free Library, where she has served as president, I have been impressed with her ability to unite people of differing backgrounds and beliefs. Alicia donates time to the local food pantry and brings understanding to the needs of people with disabilities. On the Town Planning Board and the Master Plan Committee she works with others, utilizing her skill, experience, and training to arrive at practical solutions for a growing Monroe. A thoughtful, intelligent leader who listens to varied opinions, Alicia has the necessary ability to meld ideas into positive results. Audra Schwartz and John Rios are also dedicated to bettering the quality of life in Monroe. Audra is a lawyer, wife and busy mother of two who is also a member of the Town's Conservation Commission. I have known John for years as a dedicated member of the community in which he and his wife have raised their children. He is an Army veteran who has lived in Monroe for over 22 years and is member of the VFW Post #8858, in Harriman and the American Legion Post #0488, on Lakes Road, Monroe. John has been involved in local politics working to preserve the good things to be found in Monroe. Alicia, Audra, and John want more for our community. Seeing their thriving families, you know they instill the values they voice and live by, setting the example for the families and community they are devoted to. We must unite as a community, voting for the team who can knowledgeably implement the solutions needed. Let's take a page from their book. Take action where we can for the good of our families and Monroe. Vote. Vote for Alicia Vaccaro, Audra Schwartz, and John Rios, the uniting force that can get the job done! Beverly Bowen Monroe
