Tuxedo library is vital community institution'
To the editor: On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Tuxedo Park Library, I am writing to encourage registered voters in the Town of Tuxedo to vote “yes” on Election Day in support of the Library’s operating budget vote. Are you one of the people who enjoy our new extended hours on Wednesdays and Fridays? Do you come to the Library to check out the latest DVD releases? Perhaps your child participates in our storytime and after school programs? Do you come in to check your e-mail, search the Internet or print out a report for school using our computers? Or maybe you just like a nice, comfortable chair to sit in while you read the Wall Street Journal or one of the other 107 magazines and newspapers to which we subscribe. Your tax dollars help keep all of that alive. The library is requesting a modest budget increase of $21,365. A home with a market value of $312,500 would pay an annual tax amount of $99.95 to the Library in 2006. That’s a very modest increase of $2.37 for the entire year. For only 27 cents a day, you can help keep the library going with the wonderful programs, materials and services you expect from the Tuxedo Park Library. Please help keep the Tuxedo Park Library the vital community institution it is today. Please vote “yes” to support the Tuxedo Park Library on Election Day. Sincerely, Dan Gladding President, Board of Trustees Tuxedo Park Library
