Troop brings Hugs and Kisses Tour' to nuns
Monroe For the sixth year in a row, Woodbury Girl Scout Troop 484 visited the retired Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate, better known as the Pallottine Sisters, to spread a little Valentine love. The “Hugs and Kisses Tour,” as the troop likes to call it, was held at the nun’s new building on Harriman Heights Road, across from St. Theresa’s Chapel and St. Patrick’s Villa. The girls sang songs and played instruments, which included two violins, one viola, two clarinets, a flute, and bells, with co-leader Nicola Policrit on flute. Solo performances were offered by Allie Foley on violin, and Ashlee Pintos on viola. At the end of the visit, the girls gave each sister a paperwhite daffodil bulb as a little something to remember the visit. To return the favor, each girl received valentine goodies from the sisters. “It is truly a tradition of love, not just community service, that they look forward to every year,” said troop leader MaryLynne Malone.
