Tommy Dowd Foundation sponsors bus trip to Oct. 2 Army football game

Monroe -The Tommy Dowd Foundation, named after the Monroe resident who died in the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001, is sponsoring a bus trip to West Point on Saturday, Oct. 2, for the U.S. Military Academy’s football game against Temple University. Dowd touched many lives as a husband, father and friend. The foundation was started to continue Dowd’s legacy of kindness. Since it’s inception, the foundation has awarded more than $30,000 in scholarships to Monroe-Woodbury High School students and other local causes. The bus to the Oct. 2 football game leaves at 8:30 a.m. Tickets are $65 and includes snacks, beverages and the fixing for a tailgate party. All checks should be made payable to the Tommy Dowd Memorial Foundation, which is a registered non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization.
