There is something for young people in the village
To the editor: I’m writing in response to Kathy Fico’s letter about the need for young people’s activities in Monroe in the Jan. 13 edition of The Photo News. Ms. Fico, I absolutely agree that activities for children and teens in the Village of Monroe are vital for our area. I invite you and your family and friends to explore the many exciting programs we offer at the Monroe Free Library. Enjoy a kid-friendly movie like at our Family Movie Saturdays. This event is free and we provide popcorn. Preschoolers flock to our Storytimes. Our Afterschool Crafts are popular with school-age children. Teens plan and carry out a variety of events such as music CD buying trips. We bring you a variety of special events for the young people of Monroe such as book discussions, live music, cooking classes and more. Watch for our children’s theater series this spring. And of course, our Summer Reading Program is always in demand for Grades Kindergarten through Twelve. Our programming is free or low-cost. We are very accessible as we are located in the village. And we pride ourselves on being family friendly. Stop by and visit us at 44 Millpond Parkway, Ms. Fico, and get a monthly calendar of events. Visit our Web site at www.monroelibrary.org or give me call at 783-4411. I’m always happy to hear suggestions about how we can serve you better.
