Theater delays continue for owner

MONROE - Hopes for a movie marque attached to a movie theatre got dashed when a huge “For Sale” sign went up in front of the unfinished theatre on Mill Pond Parkway. But not to worry, said property owner Norman Adie, president of Screen Arts in New York City. “We are still in litigation with Liberty Property and hope to settle with them in four to six weeks. Anybody can put up a sign but I doubt they can get more than my offer, which is considerable,” he said Wednesday. Construction on the movie theatre began in February 2003. The steel girders went up, but then work stopped. The site has been dubbed an eyesore. Residents are anxious for a local theatre or at least a finished product on the property.
