The choice is clear for Monroe: Vaccaro, Schwartz and Rios
To the editor: This coming election is, without a doubt, the most important I can imagine for the future of our town since I’ve moved to Monroe more than 18 years ago. We have an excellent slate of candidates on Row B - three people who can and will do the job that this town needs done. Alicia Vaccaro, Audra Schwartz and John Rios are more than simply well-qualified for the positions of town supervisor and the two town board seats for which they are running; they are sincere and can be trusted. I trust them to listen to all sides in any issue facing our town, yes, even to the voices of those who the current town board has characterized as “uncivil” and accused of flinging “unsubstantiated rhetoric and do nothing to sit down and solve problems” as quoted in the Times-Herald Record article of Oct. 21 titled “Monroe rumble set for Nov. 8.” I have a very high degree of trust in these candidates in every way. They are all dedicated to their families and to the town that we and they live in. Along with trust, I am confident in their abilities. All are very well-educated and have used this education professionally. Alicia Vaccaro is a third-generation civil engineer; she knows land management. Besides having an accounting degree, John Rios is a military veteran, proving to me he knows about service. Finally, Audra Schwartz is a practicing lawyer and mother - talk about supermom. Audra has an energy and fire in her eye I have rarely seen. These candidates want to do the very best job they can for us, not for themselves, but for us, for all of us. How can this choice be any clearer? We don’t just have motivated job candidates; we have qualified, trustworthy, judicious, hard-working candidates who are ready to serve. I hope the turnout this Nov. 8 is huge and we overwhelmingly elect Alicia Vaccaro our Monroe Supervisor, along with Audra Schwartz and John Rios to our Town Board. The choice is clear.
