Thanks for removing political signs

To the Editor: It was very gratifying this year to see that a few of our local politicians removed their campaign signs from our highways and other public areas immediately after Election Day. As president of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, I would like to appeal to the rest of the candidates to do the same. The signs were an appropriate way for the politicians to convey their various messages prior to the election, but the time has come for those individuals who have not removed their signs to do so immediately. We are all very fortunate to live and do business in such a beautiful area. The removal of all political signs will eliminate unnecessary detractions from the beauty of the Hudson Valley. John A.
