Teens explain why library matters

To the editor: The Teen Advisory Board of the Monroe Free Library would like to ask for your support for the library budget vote in November. One reason is the Young Adult and Children’s sections are not as big as most kids would like it to be. A bigger budget will let us purchase the most and best possible items for the small space we have. A larger budget will enable us to have more programs for teens and kids. Added funding will make it possible for more people to participate in library activities. The new budget will pay the hard-working staff at the library a little more. This way, they will be able to take care of their families. The library is important to us, Teen Force, because it provides us with an environment where we can go to study, meet friends or do homework. We would like all teens and children to have good experiences in the library, and by helping us pass the budget, we can do so. Thank you for your time and consideration.
