'Suburban Foragers' host wild edibles workshop on Oct. 15 at Outdoor Discovery Center in Cornwall

Cornwall The “Suburban Foragers” will present a two-hour workshop on wild foods and medicinals on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum’s Outdoor Discovery Center on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road in Cornwall. The Suburban Foragers are a group of environmentalists, herbalists and wild crafters concerned about the future of the earth, each with their own specialized skills and knowledge that they would like to share with others. Program participants will gain first-hand knowledge of plant identification, do’s and don’ts of gathering and cooking, recipe preparation, nutritional and medicinal value, rules and philosophies of foraging and sustainable practices. Come learn myths and legends surrounding wild edibles. After the program take a walk at the Outdoor Discovery Center in search of some wild edibles. This program is recommended for adults and interested children over the age of 12. Pre-paid registration is required. Admission: $20. Museum members: $15.
