Stop sign thieves jeopardize drivers in Woodbury

HIGHLAND MILLS-Woodbury Police Chief Robert J. Kwiatkowski told the town board last week that he is asking for the public's help to locate eight stolen stop signs. He said the information would be kept confidential if the signs are returned. But he added that if police find the culprits, they would be prosecuted. The thefts create dangerous conditions, the chief said, because drivers unfamiliar with the area could run through an intersection where a stop sign should be. If anyone does have information about the stolen signs, they may call the Woodbury Police Department at 928-2341.
