State Police charge four Utica residents with stealing from T.J. Maxx

    Monroe - Troopers arrested a car full of individuals on April 1 following the report of a larceny in progress at the T.J. Maxx retail store in the Town of Monroe. Police said the store’s loss prevention employee told troopers that people had left the store with stolen merchandise and fled in a silver Toyota Camry. One trooper saw the car traveling in the nearby Wal-mart parking lot, and proceeded to stop it. Additional troopers then arrived. State police said troopers found stolen merchandise and two lined bags that are commonly used as anti-security devices. The four people in the car were arrested and taken to the State Police barracks in Monroe. Arrested were: Damion G. McPherson, 30, who was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Adrian D. Liggins, 28, who was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Melissa T. Patterson, 27, who was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of an anti-security item. Niketa Godwin, 34, who was charged fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of an anti-security item and second-degree harassment. All suspects were from Utica. They were arraigned at the Town of Monroe Criminal Court.
