Woodbury Wolverines spring/summer baseball season ends in Cooperstown

COOPERSTOWN — After finishing in second place in the spring NYEB Baseball League, the Woodbury Wolverines finished 8-3 in tournaments before concluding their season in Cooperstown Dreams Park.
While at Cooperstown the Wolverines came in third out of 104 teams in the “Around the Horn” skills competition with a time of 22.17 seconds.
They finished pool play at 4-2, which was good for 34th out of 104 teams in pool play, where both losses were to the 10th and 13th ranked team.
The team won its first tournament bracket game and lost the second, finishing with a 5-3 record.
The offense averaged nine runs per game and was led by:
• Collin Murray - .550, two home runs
• JJ Kelleher - .500, one home run
• James Mastropolo - .460, two home runs
• Brandon Tarasenko - .368, one home run
• Danny Ryan - .368
• David Fennessy - .363, two home runs
• Jaden Fateman - .352, two home runs
• Xavier Espaillat - one home run
• Paddy Dineen – one home run
