CENTRAL VALLEY — Kathleen Riegner, a member of the Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Volleyball Team coached by Candyce Edwards-Allen, is the high school's "Athlete of the Week" for the period ending Oct. 13, Athletic Director Lori Hock announced.
"As a varsity captain, Kathleen plays an integral role on the team," Edwards-Allen said in the press release announcing the selection. "She has shown leadership skills both on and off the court and on top of her pleasant, hardworking and driven attitude, she is an outstanding athlete.
Kathleen has totaled more than 180 assists for the season as a starting setter, as well as had a total of 29 kills and 31 aces.
Outside of her athletic accomplishments, Kathleen maintains her grades, taking advanced placement and college level courses.
