NYSPHSAA announces fall 2019 Scholar-Athlete teams and individuals

Albany. George F. Baker, John S. Burke and Monroe-Woodbury high schools all place athletes and teams on the list.

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association announced its fall 2019 Scholar-Athlete teams and individuals.

This is the 28th year the NYSPHSAA has conducted the Scholar-Athlete program, which is sponsored by Pupil Benefits Plan, Inc.

This fall, the organization recognized 3,631 Scholar-Athlete teams and 47,781 individuals. A total of 632 schools across the state participated in the Scholar-Athlete program.

“Congratulations to our student-athletes and member schools,” said Dr. Robert Zayas, NYSPHSAA Executive Director. “The Scholar-Athlete program continues to be one of the most rewarding endeavors we encourage here at the Association. To see the number of Scholar-Athletes increase again this season is a true testament to the amazing work our young men and women are doing in the classroom each and every day.”
