Nirvana Legacy continues to roll

WARWICK Nirvana Legacy Girls under-14 soccer team continued its winning streak this past Sunday by defeating Long Islands Rockville Centre Racers 1-0.
On a beautiful but windy day, Legacy girls played a solid defensive game, led by goalkeeper Brianna Durland, who made the save of her career on a Rockville direct kick.
It was in the second half, however, that Victoria DiMarco broke out of the Rockville defensive pack to make a run around the goalkeeper to carefully place the ball in the net.
Rockville came back hard, but could not push through for an equalizer.
This marks Legacys third win in the Presidents League
May is going to be a busy and tough month for the girls as they go up against the first-place Albany Alleycat Blackcats twice in one weekend and then compete in the Columbia Invitational Memorial Day Weekend tournament in Maryland.
Legacy represents towns from all across lower New York state, including Washingtonville, Monroe, Warwick, Newburgh, Ellenville, Red Hook, Fishkill, Pine Bush and Hopewell Junction. The team is coached by Bobby Czumak.
