Monroe-Woodbury shuts out Pine Bush 5-0 in Girls Varsity Soccer

CENTRAL VALLEY — The Crusaders hosted the Bushmen of Pine Bush in a OCIAA Division 1 game on Thursday, Sept. 14.
The Crusaders jumped the Bushmen as soon as the game started with Liz Allen taking a cross from Kaelyn Salatto and pushing it into the corner of the net less than a minute into the game.
About 10 minutes later Allen struck again with an assist from Colleen Kinsella,
Allen then completed her natural hat trick when she scored three minutes later with another assist from Salatto.
With the Crusaders up by a score of 3-0 Josephine Sorce and Amara Hatzis added goals before the half to make the score 5-0 in favor of the Crusaders.
At the half the Crusaders switched goalies from Angela Fini to Elizabeth Hamaan. The goalies combined for another shut out as the Bushmen were only able to muster one shot on goal all game.
In the second half Allen opened the scoring with her fourth goal of the game with an assist from Caroline Helbeck and Hatzis scored with as assist from Sorce.
The Crusaders' 7-0 victory over Pine Bush makes their season record 4-1 and 1-0 in OCIAA Division 1 play.
