MONROE — Joe Orlando had three hits and three RBI’s in Gilligan’s Clam Bar’s 21-5 victory over Poppy’s 21-5.
Barry Tesseman had a home run and three RBI’s. Dave DeGrote was the winning pitcher and helped his own cause with three hits and five RBI’s.

Owner Vito Russo clubbed a big home run and had two hits to propel Gilligan’s Clam Bar over the Captains Table 11-10.
Tony Miller added a three-run inside-the-park home run. Once again, Dave DeGrote was the winning, and once again he helped his own cause by banging out three hits, including a home run.

Bourbon St. Bar & Grill/A&T Healthcare 17

Kristy’s Tom Guarino led the way by drilling four hits. John Finnegan led Bourbon with a career-high five hits, including a three-run homer.

Poppy’s 15

Poppy’s surged into first place by being Kristy’s by the score of 15-0. Poppy’s improved its record to 9-4 with two games remaining and a 1.5 game lead on second place Captain’s Table.
The offense was lead by John Murray who was 3-3 with a grand slam home run and six RBI’s. Murray is 10-12 in his last three games. Nicky Sansalone pitched a six-inning shut out for Poppy’s for his eighth win of the season. Also contributing to the win was Erdem Bessin (2-3, double, triple), MVP candidate Jeff Becker (2-3, two RBI’s), MVP candidate Victor Quinton (3-4, two RBI’s), Ronnie Crover (1-3, home run, double) and wall-of-fame candidate John Hughes (3-3, home run and two RBI’s).

IDC Insulators 9
Master Chimney 8

The IDC Insulators got back on track with a 9-8 win over first-place Master Chimney. Kevin Gannon pitched well, giving up eight runs, most of which were unearned two-out tallies. Rob McQuillan got the Insulators rolling with a two-run bomb. Timmy Lang had two hits and scored twice and Allen Hall had two hits with a run and an RBI. Mark Tabakman reached base all three times. Brendan Owens had two hits. Brad Joli had two RBI and John Thuman, Greg Hellbeck, Pat Ryan and John Kaster each drove in a run.
With two out and the tying run at the plate, catcher Kaster picked off the runner on second to end the game in dramatic fashion and give the Insulators the victory.

IDC Insulators 16
Birchwood Caterers 3

Everyone chipped in for IDC in getting their second win in as many nights. John Thuman was 2-2 with two walks and three runs. Greg “home run happy” Helbeck had a walk, a sac fly and a two-run homer. Greg Lang walked three times and scored twice. Danny Walsh had two hits and a sac fly. Brad Joli, Mark Tabakman, John Kaster and “A Rob” McQuillan combined to reach base eight times and scored and knocked in ten. Hard-hitting Allen Hall had two more hits. Junk ball Gene kept the caterers off balance, picking up the victory.
Kudos to Birchwood’s Jimmy Hobencamp who threw about 600 pitches in less than 24 hours.
Meanwhile, IDC Insulators won their third straight game this week with a 12-3 victory over first-place Master Chimney. The victory puts IDC and The Chimney Sweeps even in the loss column.
Kevin Gannon pitched a gem, yielding three unearned runs in the first inning and nothing over the next six. A-Rob McQuillan had four RBI’s, going 3-3. Brad Joli was 3 -3 with two RBI’s. Neil Riordan and Greg Lang combined to reach base six times, scoring four runs. Jay Daw, Pat Ryan, Greg Helbeck and Gene Decker each reached base twice for the Insulators.

In other action

Hudson ValleyNY.com won two games – 19-7 over Brazen Head Pub and 14-5 over Tom’s Plumbing.
Jester’s Comedy Club defeated House of Stone/Billy Ball 22-7.
Nebrasky Plumbing beat House of Stone Billy Ball 22-15.
