MONROE — Pru Rand defeated Brazen Head 14-7 behind winning pitcher Mike Melaskey.

Melaskey pitched a complete game and went 3-3, including a double and triple.

Bruce Abrignani and Jimmy Bacchiocchi each went 2-3, while Jim Wilkinson contributed two hits and five RBI’s.

PC Consulting 15 Monroe Jewelers 12

PC Consulting chalked up another win led by Paul Santillo’s pitching in a 15-12 win over Monroe Jewelers. Darin Hecht had two home runs and James Rivera had another. Defense was solid with another acrobatic catch in center field by Scott Makenzie.

Gilligan’s Clam Bar 21 Captains Table 5

Dave DeGrote (3-3, home run and four RBI’s) and Tony Miller (2-3 and three RBI’s) backed up pitcher James “Squeaky” Balmer who picked up his second win of the season in the 21-5 defeat of the Captains Table.

Reigning league MVP Tim O’Malley lead the way going 4-4 with two home runs and eight RBI’s, raising his batting average to .777.

Poppy’s 17 Best Mechanical 8 And for the highlight that everyone looks forward to reading, Poppy’s improved to 3-0 with a win Friday night by defeating Best Mechanical 17-8.

Poppy’s scored most of their runs using the “long ball” by hitting seven home runs. The barrage was led by Victor Quinton and Hall of Fame’r Chuck Todd.

Victor “The Ageless Wonder” Quinton was 3-4 with two home runs (four homers for the season) and a double, accounting for four RBI’s.

Chuck “The Legend” Todd was also 3-4 with two home runs and three RBI’s. Both Chuck’s home runs followed Victor in back-to-back and belly-to-belly fashion.

In addition to Victor and Chuck was North Rockland rookie sensation Marcos Munoz who was also went 3-4 with a home run and 3 RBI’s in his Poppy’s debut. Not to be left out of the mix was 2011 rookie of the year candidate John “Smiley” Daly who was 2-4 and three RBI’s.

Last but not least was Johnny “The Hit-man” Grasso who was 1-2 with a home runs and two RBI’s to improve his batting average to .600 on the season. Not only was he deadly at the plate, his defense in the field saved what might have been two, if not three errors.

An asset to any team, Mr. Grasso refuses to let his age get away with his most favorite pastime.

Elsewhere In other action, Kristy’s Restaurant defeated Bourbon St. Bar & Grill/AT Health Care 7-4.
