CHESTER — On a very windy Wednesday, April 4, afternoon, the Crusaders started their 2018 season against the Gladiators of Goshen High School at The Rock Sports Complex in Chester.
The Crusaders got off the bus swinging their bats and had 14 hits and scored 15 runs in the five inning “mercy rule” victory over the Gladiators.
Emma Lawson led the Crusader offense with three hits, two home runs and four RBI’s.
Crusaders Jessica O’Brien and Madison McGee both chipped in with two hits and two RBI’s to add to the lopsided score.
On the mound Samantha Ryan shut the Gladiators down, pitching five shutout innings while recording eight strikeouts.
The Crusaders' next game is scheduled for Friday afternoon at Washingtonville against the Wizards.
