M-W Girls Indoor Track team participates in three meet in one weekend

CENTRAL VALLEY — The Monroe-Woodbury Girls Indoor Track team participated in three meets last weekend: OCIAA Development Meet at West Point; the Tim St. Lawrence Meet at the New York City Armory on Friday and the Bishop Loughlin Games in Staten Island on Saturday.
“The reasoning for attending multiple meets is that most meets limit teams to three competitors per event and M-W has more than 120 girls on the team,” Coach Patrick Brown said in an email exchange with The Photo News. “A typical meet has 14 events which means each team has 42 entries in that meet. The challenge is increased because most girls compete in two or three events. Therefore, M-W frequently participates in multiple meets each week to give each athlete three or four chances over the season.”
